COVID-19 Update

Before you book your appointment, please read about the necessary precautions and safety measures that are in place to protect both you, the patient, and your therapist. Although there will always be a possibility of transmission of COVID-19 during your treatment, the clinic is mitigating the risk as much as possible. We follow the guidelines and mandates set out by the College of Massage Therapists of BC and the Provincial Health Services Authority.

Prescreening

24 hours before each treatment, you will receive a reminder email, from which you can confirm your appointment and complete the pre-screening form. You may also receive a phone call to ensure you do not show any COVID-19 symptoms and have completed the self-assessment. Please bring your own face mask to the clinic; your therapist will also be wearing a fresh mask. There is hand sanitizer available at the entrance, and your temperature may be taken upon arrival.

Cancellations

Please cancel and reschedule your treatment if you are currently experiencing symptoms or if you have come in contact with someone with a confirmed case of COVID-19 in the past 14 days. If you are a high-risk patient or immunocompromised, you may be asked to cancel or postpone your treatment if the risk to you outweighs the benefit of the treatment. Your treatment will be cancelled if you do not meet the pre-screening criteria. We will notify you and cancel your treatment if your therapist or a patient shows symptoms or has been diagnosed with COVID-19. For the duration of the pandemic, we had eliminated the last-minute cancellation and the no-show fees to encourage patients to stay home if needed. Late-cancellation charges and no-show fees for appointments that are cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice are still applicable at this time (at the discretion of the therapist).

Risk Reduction

To reduce the potential of transmission, please arrive for your treatment unaccompanied if able. Access to the clinic will only be available 10-15 minutes before your treatment. Several posters from BC's Center for Disease Control have been visibly posted at the entrance, in the bathroom, and in the treatment room for patients to reference. Paper tissue is available in the treatment room and at reception. Invoices and receipts will be emailed to you by your RMT, with printed copies available upon request. Your therapist will be wearing PPE as per the Provincial Health Officer's requirements or as mandated by the College of Massage Therapists of BC.

Hygiene

The treatment room and common areas are regularly disinfected, using cleaning and sanitizing agents certified and approved by WorkSafe BC and Health Canada, before and after your treatment, including the massage table, sinks, doors knobs, light switches, clothing hangers, and furniture. Your therapist will be washing their hands before and after the treatment and sanitizing after contact with shared items and areas. All linen is cleaned and sterilized using a professional laundering service. To adhere to the sanitation protocols mentioned above, the time between patients is a minimum of 15 minutes.
