Austin is passionate about helping his patients reach their wellness goals through massage therapy. He prefers a holistic approach to therapy that uses a biopsychosocial model to identify root concerns, apply modifications to activities of daily living, and create a sustainable home-care routine. He believes that each patient has a unique presentation and requires a personalized treatment plan curated through careful assessment and regular patient feedback. Austin emphasizes the importance of communication during each treatment process to ensure that his patients leave satisfied and have greater confidence in their health and well-being.
Austin graduated with honours from the Vancouver College of Massage Therapy in 2018. During his education and training, he worked with a variety of patients and conditions: office workers, seniors in living facilities, university athletes, survivors of addiction and abuse, persons living with HIV, as well as those with neurological and congenital conditions. Before starting as an RMT, he was recruited as an athletic trainer at St. George’s Senior School, where he assessed and treated acute-onset injuries during sports events. After completing the registration exams, Austin created Warren Wellness and began operating at the Davie Village RMT Clinic, where he practiced for nearly 3 years before opening his own independent clinic in Gastown. In 2022, he decided to return to the West End of Vancouver and joined the team at West End Wellness.
Before pursuing massage therapy, Austin completed two years toward a Bachelor of Music at the University of Victoria, majoring in music education. During University, he taught individual piano lessons and worked with the Victoria Youth Choir. He still maintains his passion for music and is always eager for more listening recommendations!
